I fell in love with yoga in 2000. It wasn’t the flexibility or the Instagram-worthy poses that captured me—it was the way yoga connected me to my own body in a way nothing else ever had.
As an athlete, I’d pushed my body hard. I’d learned to breathe through Lamaze classes, understanding even then that breath was power. But yoga? Yoga was different. It became the fluid glue that held my body together, finding strength not just in muscles, but in ligaments, joints, and the spaces between. It kept my body healthy when nothing else could.
I remember the first time I practiced in a room full of people and just listened—to the collective breath, the prana, the life force moving through all of us together. It felt like church. It felt like coming home.
Over the years, my practice has taken me many places. I’ve earned my 500+ hours of training, explored different styles and teachers, and always—always—I return to my roots.
Elemental Yoga.
Foundational Sun A and Sun B flows. Intentionally slower. Holding asanas for alignment and balance. This isn’t about perfecting poses or working toward some final destination. There are no peak poses in my class because every asana we move through is a peak pose. You’re invited to move organically, to find that space and time where your body says, “I get it, and thank you.” That’s your pose. That’s your practice.
